JIRACOR – 2018 Success Stories Honoree in Central Florida

Orlando, FL., On September 5th, JIRACOR, LLC, a current 8(a) participant serviced by the North Florida District was recognized as one of the top 2018 success stories by Prospera (prosperausa.org), the premier Hispanic business serving organization in the state of Florida.  The annual Success Stories Luncheon is a fundraising event that brings the community together with outstanding small business clients. The honorees are selected based on the excellence, innovation and the growth of their small business in the state of Florida.

Alongside a full house with over 500 attendees, Prospera celebrated the advancement of small businesses, Hispanic entrepreneurs (including women and veterans), and the impact of their year round services.

This year, JIRACOR was recognized due to their fast growth, as well as their leadership and role model working with other Hispanic businesses in the area.

JIRACOR Awarded sub-contract for new US Army laser training system

Orlando, FL., (September 21, 2017) – Lockheed Martin awarded JIRACOR a subcontract to provide Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) of the Instrumentable Multiple Integrated Laser Engagement System (IMILES) Vehicle Tactical Engagement Simulation System (VTESS).

Managed by the U.S. Army Program Executive Office for Simulation, Training and Instrumentation (PEO STRI), the system includes training kits of laser detectors and transmitters to equip military trucks, training weapons, and armored vehicles. The new Instrumentable Multiple Integrated Laser Engagement System (I-MILES) Vehicle Tactical Engagement Simulation System (VTESS) program will allow seamless integration with the Army’s existing Multiple Integrated Laser Engagement Systems.

JIRACOR Awarded SBA 8(a) Certification

ORLANDO, FL, August 23, 2017. – JIRACOR, an Orlando-based engineering and manufacturing defense contractor has been awarded 8(a) certification from the US Small Business Administration (SBA).

The SBA 8(a) certification is a unique program for the federal government marketplace that offers specialized business training, counseling, marketing assistance and high-level executive development provided by the SBA and their resource partners.

JIRACOR is now among a relatively small group of companies that are positioned to receive sole source contracts from the federal government. They are attractive as partners for larger businesses and as participants in joint ventures, enabling them to learn from other more experienced businesses.

Participants in SBA’s 8(a) nine-year business assistance program for small, disadvantaged businesses can gain a foothold in government contracting and may receive sole-source contracts worth up to $4 million for engineering services and $7 million in manufacturing.
