Mission Need

NAWCTSD required prime contractor support for the controlled removal, disposition, and demilitarization of end-of-life Navy training equipment at NAS Jacksonville, including Integrated Avionics Trainers (IAT) and the P-3 Update Trainer.

JIRACOR Scope

JIRACOR served as the Prime Contractor supporting the removal and disposition of legacy U.S. Navy training equipment at NAS Jacksonville. JIRACOR coordinated the controlled disassembly, packaging, inventory, transportation, Government property turn-in, DLA disposition, recycling, data-media destruction, hazardous-material handling, safety closeout, and facility restoration activities required to responsibly remove the training systems from service.

What We Delivered

  • Trainer Disassembly & Removal — controlled disassembly and removal of training devices, associated equipment, cables, components, spare parts, documentation, and support material
  • Equipment Packaging & Transportation — packaging, palletization, labeling, inventory, and transportation of equipment to approved Government disposition locations
  • DLA Disposition & Government Turn-In — coordination and documentation supporting DLA disposition, Government equipment turn-in, and approved recycling
  • Property Accountability & Inventory — inventory and tracking of equipment prior to removal, including pallet-level identification and equipment accountability
  • Data & Media Disposition — removal and approved destruction of computer hard drives and obsolete trainer documentation/media in accordance with applicable Government requirements
  • HAZMAT & Recycling Support — proper handling and disposition of hazardous materials and coordination of recyclable materials
  • Safety & Facility Closeout — electrical/safety coordination, removal-related hazard mitigation, cleanup, and restoration of affected training spaces

Mission Impact

As the Prime Contractor, JIRACOR successfully supported NAWCTSD in the controlled removal and responsible disposition of legacy Navy training systems at NAS Jacksonville, including Integrated Avionics Trainers (IAT — Device 110301) and the P-3 Update Trainer (Device 71401), enabling facility modernization and compliance with Government property and environmental requirements.
